A Word From Our Chapter Presidents

Hello fellow Azusa StreetRiders:

I’d like to first say it’s an honor and privilege to tell you about the new Ashland, KY chapter of ASR. We are excited to be wearing the patch and bringing Acts 2:38 to everyone’s attention. All members—so far—are from the same church and do a lot of outreach to the community. We’re hoping to use this as another tool to reach the lost in our area.

We have planned to let our presence be known at an event called “Rally On The River” where we will have all our members and ASR members from some other chapters joining us. It’s the best time to get our name out and introduce ourselves to the clubs around the area and also the general public. This event draws hundreds of bikers and others out as it has music, bike shows etc…. This is one of the biggest events in the area so a strong showing of ASR members would be great! If you’d like to join with us we would like to get together on Saturday, August 15th. We will be fellowshipping throughout the day and will be having a lunch and dinner together.

We also plan to hit some rides that other ASR chapters are sponsoring. One in particular we know we’ll be attending is the “Cruz’n for Christ” ride our Northern KY ASR chapter friends host.

For more information on attending “Rally On The River” you can contact me or Bro. Jim Curley (Fletcher77@me.com    jim.curley@azusastreetriders.com).

On behalf of the Ashland KY Chapter of ASR, God bless you all and stay safe this riding season. We look forward to seeing you soon.

A Word From Our Chapter Presidents

Greetings:

It’s a great day to give thanks to God and for all that He has accomplished in our lives. If you have lived for God any period of time, you know that it’s better to live for Him than to be without His presence in your life. For that I give Him all of the glory and honor.

Here in Louisiana we are getting ramped up for the First Annual “Ride to the Ranch.” This fundraiser is for the Lighthouse Ranch for Boys in Loranger, LA. The facility is located just north of Hammond, LA on the outskirts of New Orleans. There is no greater ministry than a soul winning ministry that will direct and redirect lives to God. A ministry that has eternal rewards in the lives of these young men is well deserving of our support. Please, if you can’t make it to this fundraiser, go online and donate something. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Our web site is www.AzusaStreetRidersNOLA.com for the Southeastern Louisiana Chapter of Azusa StreetRiders.

Just one more important fact about “The Ranch.” The Lighthouse Ranch for Boys has a 98% success rate. Out of this Ranch ministry, not only have lives been transformed, but young men have become licensed ministers for our Lord Jesus Christ. What an impact this ministry is for spreading the Gospel. Being raised from what was thought to be unchangeable situations!

What an impact it would make if we could support such a worthy cause. For those of you that will be attending, you are welcome to camp over on Friday night before the run on The Ranch’s 40 plus acres. We have men and women coming in from Georgia to donate their time for this event. They travel to different motorcycle events coordinating games and a motorcycle skills training. There will be a motorcycle contest, food, raffles and music. Please register online for this event.

Thank you for your support in our effort to bless the Lighthouse Ranch for Boys.

Ride safely,

Rev. Ed Sears

Greetings to all in the name of Jesus!

Today I am filled with optimism. I know that everything that we put our hand to accomplish that God is with us. He is well able to make straight our path, heal our bodies and take care of any situation that we are going through.

I just want to encourage you. Do not give up hope; not for those you are witnessing to, not for family members’ salvation, not for situations that seem as though they will never change.

Read John 6:17-21. The disciples were in the dark rowing across the sea. They were toiling all night long with a destination in mind. It was hard work without having land in sight. But the Bible says in verse 21, when Jesus got in the boat, immediately they were at their destination.

We all are working towards the same purpose. Sometimes it’s dark and we do not always see what God is doing in every situation. But I encourage you. Do not be discouraged. Do not stop praying. Do not give up. Continue to pray. As long as God is in control, the answer, the deliverance, the healing and the miracle is on its way.

Hello Brothers and Sisters in the precious Name of Jesus Christ!

The past few weeks I have been down. Not depressed but not really full of faith. Sorta feeling alone and out. Then today something a preacher once told me came to my mind. The life of a minister is often full of despair. He cited Elijah, after he slaughtered the profits of Baal and Jezebel had sent for his life. Elijah was terrified of one woman after slaying the 450 profits. But for some reason one terrified him. Elijah struggled in himself even after such a powerful display of God’s might. Even though he felt alone, God showed him that he was in fact not alone and he began to realize that the same God that sent down fire from Heaven had not forgotten him! Even though we may feel down or defeated we are still a servant of the Most High. A child of God and joint-heirs with Christ!

Just as David encouraged himself in the Lord, we must do the same thing. We have to open the Ark of Testimonies and remember all that Jesus has done. Israel had the Ten Commandments, Manna, and the rod that sprouted. We all have our own testimonies of things God has brought us through, prayer, and His Word to encourage ourselves with.

Changing gears here; sand often starts off as rock but it’s rock that couldn’t handle the stresses of life; the wind, the storms, and the waves. Those that build there houses upon this failed rock will not only have have their houses torn down but have the foundation washed away as well. They will utterly have nothing after the storm comes by. Those that build there lives on false doctrines and beliefs find themselves here. Unable to coop with life. But those that build their houses on the Rock, the Corner Stone the builders rejected, the Christ that knows not failure, will always have the Rock to fall on to. Even if your life is torn down like Job’s, we have Christ to run to. I said all that to say this. A minister’s life is often full of despair.

Do not think it strange the fiery trials that are to try you. But remember your heritage and lineage. We are joint-heirs with Christ and we are not forgotten. The same spirit that was in Christ is in us. He may have never know failure but failure will come our way. Be quick to repentance and keep a heart after God’s. The only way the enemy can win is if we surrender and allow him to. I’ve seen the back of the Book and it’s already written that we are The Victorious!

ATLANTIC CANADA CHAPTER

(08 April 2015)

“Greetings” from the only Canadian Chapter of the Azusa StreetRiders.

Our chapter consists of six members, four of whom are Licensed Ministers representing three different Oneness groups. The chapter is centered in Sussex, New Brunswick. “Where’s that”, you may ask? Head to Maine, turn left and head north.

One of our Chapter goals this summer is to double our membership. We sometimes joke that we know exactly what a “Church Plant” minister goes through as we “witness” to prospective members. We’re still overcoming the erroneous idea that we’re a “Biker Gang”.

The chapter members are, for the most part, also involved with the organizing committee for the “Cruzin’ for Christ” Motorcycles for Missions Biker Rally. In the six years of the Rally’s existence, enough funds have been raised to purchase thirteen motorcycles a scooter and a Tuc-Tuc. It’s through searching the net for ways to improve this Rally that I contacted Rev Doug Joseph in Virginia. He put me in contact with Fred Beall and the rest is history…We are now part of Azusa StreetRiders.

We have also made contact with a pastor in the State of Maine. He organizes a “Sheaves for Christ” Biker Event and we would like to meet with his people to share our vision and exchange ideas on improving each other’s Rallies. We also wish to see if we can help to establish a chapter in Maine…Close enough for us to fellowship with!

Gift Giving

Christmas-Presents-004

It is that time of the year. If you are looking for a great gift to give a biker put your order in and I will put it together gift wrapped and shipped to that person or shipped to you so you can give it to them. If there is something in particular you would like us to carry in the online store let me know and I will look into making it possible. Purchases help to pay for advertising, ASR event expenses, Booths at events, etc. I have created some gift ideas under Shop>Christmas Gifts.

Merry Christmas to all and to the coming New Year !

I want to remind everyone that if you have any donations for Motorcycles for Missionaries you can make it through the Shop! All donations are appreciated! Thank you to all who have given from their hearts to this worthy cause. It helps  reach out to many lost souls when missionaries can get to the places they need to go.

In January the bills will be emailed for the upcoming 2015 dues. Please make sure that I have your current email address. If you need the bill mailed to you let me know at lydia.diaz@azusastreetriders.com or 609-742-6539. I am also adding a link in the shop for individual memberships. Chapters still need to pay through the invoice so that I know who is paying.

July 30 through August 2, 2014; 4th Annual ASR International Rally 2014, Maryville, TN

photo (3)Azusa StreetRiders from 12 US states and Canada converged on First Apostolic Church (Pastor Kenneth Carpenter) in Maryville, TN for our only true annual “fellowship” event…All other events worldwide focus on outreach for Christ. We had rides (Google “Tail of the Dragon”) and events scheduled for each day and had 42 bikes on one “Dragon” ride!

We were blessed to have Pastor Cortt & Sis. Amanda Chavis (Truth Chapel, Loganville, GA) as our featured speakers for our three open-to-public night services. Attendance estimates were around 300-400 for each night and we were ministered to! Thank you Bro. & Sis. Chavis! These messages will soon be available for viewing on our ASR website…Listen to them…You will be blessed!

At our Azusa StreetRiders International business meeting Saturday, Bro. Robert Thompson (Maryville, TN Chapter) was re-elected Secretary and Rev. Todd Storey (Northern KY Chapter) was elected Vice-President. Two international appointments were also made…Rev. Julie McGhghy (Cincinnati, OH Chapter) was installed as ASR Ladies Chaplain and Bro. Michael Theodore (Ashtabula, OH Chapter) was installed as ASR Road Captain. Sis. McGhghy is available to assist with any issues specific to women and can be contacted via the ASR website, while Bro. Theodore will be assisting each chapter with their rides. Both have considerable experience for their respective positions and should be contacted as needed.

For their efforts and help with Azusa StreetRiders, Bro. & Sis. Carpenter and Bro. & Sis. Chavis were inducted as “Honorary Members” of Azusa StreetRiders and were each presented with a vest with our ASR backpatch stating such.

This past year our Azusa StreetRiders US and Canadian efforts resulted in funding for the purchase of two motorcycles for Brother Naimy (ALJC missionary to the Philippines) and a gift of $1,000 to ALJC’s World Missions Department.

At the business meeting, it was stressed that the funding goal for each ASR chapter is $1,000 annually for “Motorcycles for Missionaries.” Additionally, to help promote our efforts for Christ, we asked each member of ASR that is active on social media to promote us. On Facebook, our official name is “Azusa Street-Riders” and on Twitter, we are “@Azusa StreetRide”…We were asked to please “Like”, “Share” and “Retweet” info about our upcoming events that are promoted there and ask other to also “like” and “follow” us.

It was announced that the next “Bind the Strongman” all-night prayer event will be held at United Pentecostal Church (Pastor Robert Eades and ASR Member) in Eminence, KY on March 6, 2015. Prayer will start at 9:00 PM. This is Azusa StreetRiders’ annual prayer event that does not involve biking…everybody (public welcome) comes together and prays through the night following World Network of Prayer’s guidelines. Focused prayer is led throughout the night and following the prayer, everyone simply returns home. We’ve had attendees from as many as nine states attend a past event…Needs are met and prayers are answered at these events. Please plan to attend!

22-24 August 2014: 6th Annual Cruzin’ for Christ, Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada

photoEvents for Cruzin’ for Christ were centered at Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church in Sussex, New Brunswick.

Our 2014 goal was to raise enough funds to purchase three more motorcycles for use in Ghana, West Africa (Bro. and Sis.Nick Sisco and Sis. Colleen Carter). Our “Cruzin’ for Christ” organizing committee is comprised mostly of members of the Atlantic Canada Chapter of Azusa StreetRiders. The committee meets regularly on an almost year-round basis.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON:
Biker Registration area is set up in the foyer of ALUPC. Appropriate signage is present and maps and directions are available for out-of-town bikers who have made reservations at one of the area’s motels or Bed & Breakfasts. Accommodation information is available on the “Cruzin’ for Christ” website. (www.cruzinforchrist.ca). As bikers register, the funds that they have gathered are recorded on their Ride Application /Pledge Sheet and Waivers are signed.

FRIDAY EVENING:
This year’s concert had a “House Band” plus nine different “performers” (if that’s the appropriate word to use in this context) in concert. We had a canteen and the first $200.00 of canteen profit is designated as a gift to the “MK” program of the UPCI. This money is used to purchase bicycles for “Missionary Kids” somewhere on the foreign field. For 2014, although a final audit has not occurred as of this date, we anticipate being able to send approx. $240.00 to the MK program. The free-will offering received during the concert totaled about $450.00. About 100 people were in attendance. Visitors get a first-hand view of old fashioned Pentecostal worship, prayer and praise! The result was one young man filled and another re-filled with the Holy Ghost and one was baptized in Jesus’ name! (Both young men were again in church for the Sunday Evening service and both were again at the alter and praising, praying and worshiping.) For the event, we raised enough to buy four motorcycles and two bicycles for MKs. To God be the Glory!

SATURDAY:
Registration for the bikers started at 7:45 am. Breakfast was at 8:30 am and “Kickstands Up” was at 9:30 am. It’s the policy of the “Cruzin’ for Christ” Ride to plan the Biker’s Route in such a way that the ride stops for a “Noon Meal” visit with a smaller congregation that would ordinarily not have a chance to host any events within the Atlantic District. This year we stopped at the Blackville United Pentecostal Church in the village of Blackville, New Brunswick. Bro. and Sis. John Beach have seen attendance double in the 24 months they have pastored there and they are now seeing about 70 saints per service. This is in an area that has been devastated by a lack of employment. They organized a “Biker BBQ” for this noon meal. We learned that the church made new contacts within their community and had new people in their Sunday Service as a result of the BBQ. We were able to supply Bro. Beach with the “Outreach” type tracts that are available for download from the Azusa StreetRiders website. He also used these for the bikers that stopped in to see why so many motorcycles were parked in the church yard!

The Bikers then made their way back to Sussex where we arrived in time for a 5:00 pm Roast Beef Dinner.

SUNDAY MORNING BIKER CHURCH SERVICE:
The service is advertised as a “Biker Service” on the church’s sign on the Main Street of the community. This year’s message was delivered by the Atlantic Canada Chapter’s President. Thanks to inspiration received during Bro Chavis’s messages at ASR’s National Rally in Maryville, TN, Bro. McLeod spoke on the theme of “Loud Pipes Save Lives.”
