Winter Months

Every great riding season must come to an end if you’re in areas where the winter weather can hinder your riding. As the cold weather approaches, it’s time to prepare your motorcycle for hibernation. Proper winter storage can help protect your bike from damage and ensure it’s ready to hit the road again when spring arrives. Take these important steps to properly winterize your motorcycle, because maintaining is cheaper than repairing.

1. Clean thoroughly

Wash your motorcycle with a mild soap and warm water, dry, and give it a good wax before stowing it away. This will help prevent rust or corrosion and make it look extra shiny when you take it out again next spring. Treat any leather on your bike. First give it a gentle cleaning with warm water and a soft cloth to remove dirt. Then condition it with a leather care product to protect it from cracking in the cold. Lubricate all moving parts on your motorcycle including the chain, cables, and locks.

2. Change fluids

Change the engine oil and filter to prevent sludge buildup. Old oil can become acidic. Check the brake fluid level and replace it if necessary. Ensure the coolant level is full and that it’s the correct type for your motorcycle.

As far as your fuel tank is concerned, there are multiple ways to approach it. Fill it or leave it completely empty. Revzilla says both methods have their shortcomings. The petcock is stressed more by full tanks, and empty tanks can result in dried-out seals. Choose whichever method you feel more comfortable with.

Another thing you should do if you choose to fill your gas tank is add some fuel stabilizer. You’ll want to run your engine for a bit to get the stabilizer to mix in and distribute properly throughout the fuel. What this does is prevent ethanol phase separation and rusty tanks.

3. Protect the tires

Inflate the tires to the recommended pressure for storing in cold temperatures. The weight of the motorcycle could cause flat spots on tires if not properly inflated. If you can’t elevate your bike on a stand, try putting it on a piece of plywood or old carpet. Also try rolling the bike around occasionally to rotate the tires while it’s in storage. It’s recommended to avoid standing the bike on concrete which could cause moisture to build up under the tires.

4. Disconnect the battery

A sitting battery can lose its charge, especially in colder temperatures. To combat that, disconnect the battery and store in a warm, dry place until the spring. If you don’t like the idea of having to reconnect your battery when you take your motorcycle out again, consider using a battery tender to monitor the charge and keep the battery topped off.

5. Cover your bike

Covering your motorcycle is extremely important for many reasons. It can help to keep moisture away, keep the sun off, and keep critters out. Mice love to hide in warm spaces and the exhaust pipes and filters are a perfect spot for them. But a cover won’t be enough to keep them away, so make sure to plug those openings and protect your wires (they like to chew those).

6Store in a dry, warm, and safe place

Storing in a dry and warm space is also extremely important. Moisture can do a number of bad things to your motorcycle including rust and corrosion, damage to electrical systems and batteries, fuel breakdown, mold, and damage to your leather seats. Cold can affect tires and batteries as we mentioned above.

If you still like to get your bike out during the winter months when there is a warmer day, make sure to take advantage of the various toy runs and benefits that will be going on through the holiday seasons. It’s a great time to be able to minister, not only to the recipients of the toy runs or benefits, but to all the bikers that attend!

Planning Your Next Event

Now is the time to start planning your event for 2026!

Even if you don’t have all the details mapped out, or know exactly what kind of event you are planning, it’s a great idea to at least nail down the dates of your event and get it posted to the website and both Facebook groups as close to the beginning of the year as possible.

Each year, there are events being posted just a few weeks or days before they begin, which makes it difficult for the membership to plan their year.

Last year, we asked all chapters to hold their annual meeting and elections in January, and then report the results of the elections as well as a current roster of chapter members to the National Board. This format helps the National Board to know who is in leadership at the chapter level, and who the current membership numbers are.

The January meeting is a great time to decide a date for your event!!

The more notice people have to plan, the more likely they are to be able to attend.

***Note***
Before you decide your event date, make sure it doesn’t conflict with another event date that is already listed in the same regional area.

WELCOME

Bienvenido, Willkommen, Bienvenue, Добро пожаловать, ようこそ, Benvenuto, and Welcome to all of new members!

We are so excited to have you as an integral member of Azusa StreetRiders, The Apostolic Motorcycle Ministry of Jesus Christ. The ministry opportunities that you have as a biker are unlimited. We have seen the phenomenal growth of motorcycle ministries over the past 25 years.

Increasing numbers of church and mission leaders are sensing that we could be on the verge of the next Great Awakening, and many of us are praying and believing for it. We are in a unique position as oneness Apostolics to bring the message of salvation to this great community of bikers. We want to encourage you to be open to the moving of the Spirit and be sensitive to miraculous moments.

We are reminded when Peter and John were on their way to afternoon prayer. As they approached the Temple, there was a lame man who stood every day at the beautiful gate of the Temple. This was an optimal place to beg from the people going into to worship.

When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money. Peter and John looked at him intently, this was their miraculous moment. Peter said, “I don’t have any money for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”

Then Peter reached out in faith and took the lame man by the right hand and lifted him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were healed instantly. He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began walking, and leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple and worship with them.

When we have miracle moments let’s make the most of them and see the harvest God desires to give us.

Let’s Go!

UPCI General Conference Report

We were blessed to be able to set up an exhibit at the 2025 UPCI General Conference in St. Louis, MO. We had very good traffic to the booth, and made several strong contacts during the four days we had the exhibit.

We are thankful for the missionaries, who graciously took time to speak with us about the impact ASR is making globally through our Motorcycles for Missionaries giving!

Each time we are able to educate and inform the body of Apostolic believers about the goals and mission of ASR, we enable this ministry to have a greater impact across the world!

Reach out to your local district officials about possibly setting up an exhibit at your district conferences. It makes a difference!

During the Global Missions Service, the emphasis was placed on the term “Pentecost Every Day”.

Not just a catchy phrase, but Pentecost Every Day is a global vision for a sustainable annual harvest of over a million disciples from every nation and people group. It’s a call for the entire church to be united in purpose and empowered to share the gospel worldwide, with the goal of seeing a continuous, long-term spiritual growth.

Pentecost Every Day highlights a commitment to global evangelism and missions. It is a unified effort, mobilizing the entire church to participate in sharing the gospel.

I believe with all my heart, that Azusa Street Riders has come to the kingdom, for such a time as this. Each time I am around the membership of this ministry, I can feel the burden and the commitment to be active participants in the harvest of souls in this hour.

We are committed to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, not only in our own cities and towns, but in the neighboring cities and towns, in states across this great nation, and across the world by giving in Motorcycles for Missionaries!

WE WILL SEE PENTECOST EVERY DAY!!
