Running on Fumes

It has always been an unwritten rule to show up to a ride with your tank full. Many times, however, there’s usually a few riders in the group that show up with their tank empty, or even running on fumes.

We read in 1 Corinthians 9:24:
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

We aren’t simply in motorcycle ministry for the ride, but we are in a race, running for the prize of eternal life with Jesus Christ, and striving to take as many with us as we possibly can.

I’m reminded of an old song that I grew up hearing in church,
“Lord, I’m running, trying to make a hundred. Ninety nine and half won’t do.”

Each day, as we begin our daily run with Christ, don’t take off on empty. Spend some time with Him in prayer, building up your most holy faith. Be FULL when you step out into this world that is crying out for help.

Running on fumes in our walk with God can not only harm us spiritually, but it can hinder the effectiveness of our witness.

So, let’s continue to fill up before we head out. With a full tank, you may just be able to top off someone else along the way, that is running on fumes.
