Azusa StreetRiders National Emergency Response Team

Azusa StreetRiders National Emergency Response Team Taking the care and compassion for lost souls to a different gear…
Have you ever felt the call to jump into action when a local or national emergency takes place?….. Have you felt you could do more?….. Well, so do we! We have decided to introduce the Azusa StreetRiders National Emergency Response Team. We are looking for Azusa StreetRider members who can go above and beyond, if and when, the need ever arises. We would assemble regional teams to be able to dispatch to emergency situations, whether it be a hurricane, landslide, fire or other catastrophic event. Each team would be responsible for, or not limited to, search and rescue, supplies distribution, first aid and general support. We are looking into co-ordinating with local and/or governmental agencies soon for proper training information and/or certification processes. We are praying about this and want this endeavor to be another avenue of reaching out to the community. We welcome anyone interested……..

Apostolic Life & Lifeline Connect

Hello Brother Thompson. We had our groundbreaking August 16 for the new Lifeline-connect 24 resident dorm. The 5,000 sq. ft. project is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2019.  Several ASR riders participated in the Connecting Coast to Coast Ride in May to help raise funds for this project. Thank you very much ASR members!
The Lord has blessed and this project will be constructed debt-free.
Attached is pic of groundbreaking with names left to right.

National Rally has come and gone

Here is just a few Pictures from our 2018 National Rally

Well this years National Rally has come and gone. Laureen and I along with My Pastor and Pentecostal Community Church would like to say thank you all who took the time out of your busy schedules to ride on up to Northeast Ohio.  And would also like to thank the ASR National Board.By far I would have to say that this years National Rally was hands down one of the best. And it was because of you guys our ASR family who made it so special. We had an awesome time in fellowship, riding, eating, and outreach. What made the outreach worth every effort. Was that we had a family come from our outreach to our rally and one person from that family received the Holy Ghost Thank you Jesus. This is what it’s all about. For the members who could not stay for Biker Sunday we had a tremendous out pouring of the Holy Ghost 2 received the Holy Ghost and 5 were baptized praise God. Thank you again for a wonderful National Rally. Looking forward to the 2019 National Rally in Tennessee. Hope to see everyone there.

State Watch

California
The state’s bill to protect motorcyclists from profiling by law enforcement officers failed to move forward. The bill, AB 2972, cleared the policy committee on a 5-2 vote. But the measure met opposition on the Assembly floor. Several lawmakers abstained, resulting in a 28-24 vote against the bill, which would prohibit law enforcement officers from stopping and questioning motorcyclist based on their choice of vehicle or clothing. Assembly member Anna Caballer, who introduced the bill was granted reconsideration, but ultimately pulled the bill when it became clear it wasn’t likely to pass.

Minnesota
The state Legislature passed S.F. 3466, which allows people possessing a motorcycle learner’s permit to ride a motorcycle on interstate highways and expressways. A person 16 or older who has a valid drivers license may obtain a motorcycle learner’s permit by passing a written examination and paying a fee.

New Hampshire
Gov. Chris Sununu signed S.B. 516 into law prohibiting motorcycle -only checkpoints by law enforcement agencies in the state.

Tennessee
S.B. 680, signed by Gov, Bill Haslam, removes a restriction that off highway vehicles only be operated on public streets and roads during one day of each of two big event weekends each year in Scott County. The new law specifies that the off-highway vehicles may be operated untill midnight. The law became effective on May 3rd.

Humbled

To all Azusa street riders;
I would like to say I’m honored and humbled to be International Secretary of ASR. When I joined ASR in 2011 I would never have dreamed that I would be doing Biker Sunday events let alone being on the board. Aug 2012 on the way to Clarksburg Rally we saw a bike and biker along side route 50, it was Bro. David Showalter , after spending 9 hours in a lot of downpours we got to know a great man that I am in contact with on a daily basis along with Bro. Joe Jarvis and Bro. Michael Theodore but that’s a whole different story.
I said that to get to this, Bro Showalter’s bike needed to get to repair shop so I rode along with Bro Beall and Bro Showalter to get it there. That gave me the opportunity to hear to hear Bro Beall tell about starting ASR and his vision for this ministry which is one of the reasons I accepted this nomination. As a board member I will do my very best to put God first and to do my part to make ASR everything Bro Beall envisioned it to be. I love this ministry and all the great people that I have got to meet, ASR is one huge family and I want to thank all of you for your confidence in me. God bless you all.
International Secretary
Bro. Tom Thompson

Pray for Brother Todd Storey

I would like to ask that all of the Azusa StreetRiders family, friends and members continue to pray for Bro and Sis Storey and their family. Many of you know they were rear ended by a car while he and Sister Storey were riding on his motorcycle He has been in the hospital for weeks now and I just received a text he just came out of “another” surgery.

Please keep an eye out on our website and FB pages as to updates. In addition were attempting to put into place a medium in which we might be able to help in another way, by giving an offering for the family.

Thank you

It is the favorite time of year for the ASR membership!!! It is time for the national rally!! Good riding, tasteful eats, great fellowship, and tremendous church is the normal adventures of every ASR national rally. The annual business meeting will be held on Saturday, August 4th and will be including the election for ASR international secretary. I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for the opportunity that I have had over the past 2 years to serve each of you and this ministry. It was an honor to have your confidence to vote me into this position and it has been an honor to serve as Secretary. I have decided that, at the current time, it is most profitable for my family, the ASR, and myself to refrain from seeking another term in office due to various responsibilities of “life” and the ministry that I am involved with inside of my home church. I ask that each of you join me in continuing to hold up the current and all future ASR boards in prayer. Now, it’s rally time; let’s get ready for church!! May God bless and keep each one of you.

Sincerely thankful,
Michael Luttrell
ASR International Secretary
