Well, we are already heading into the month of March, and looking at the time changing, moving clock up an hour.

The first quarter of the year is almost over, and I ask myself, what I have accomplished so far this year. As we process this, try to think of one more thing we can do for getting closer to God.

While we have the time.

Whatever it might be.

If possible, we didn’t do something last month, we got this month to do it in.

 Gearing Up for Battle

Brothers and sisters, spring is here, and you know what that means for us riders—it’s time to get our bikes ready for the season! I don’t know about you, but I’ve been in my garage checking the oil, inspecting the tires, charging the battery, and making sure everything’s ready to roll, Plus I rode just the other day. You can’t just jump on a bike that’s been sitting all winter and expect it to perform. You’ve got to prepare it. You’ve got to get it battle-ready for the road ahead. But here’s what the Lord laid on my heart this morning: just like we’re preparing our motorcycles for riding season, God is calling us to prepare spiritually for a season of breakthrough. And let me tell you, breakthrough doesn’t come to the casual, the comfortable, or the complacent. Breakthrough comes to those who gear up for spiritual battle, who understand that prayer isn’t just a religious exercise—it’s warfare in the heavenly realm. Today, we’re going to look at one of the most powerful passages in Scripture about prayer and spiritual warfare. We’re going to see how Daniel’s 21-day prayer journey reveals the invisible battles that rage when we pray, and how persistence breaks through resistance. So, buckle up, because we’re about to attack this season with the same intensity we bring to the open road!

Scripture Foundation: Daniel 10:1-14

Daniel chapter 10. This is one of the most revealing passages about what happens in the spiritual realm when we pray. Verses 12 through 13: “Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.” Did you catch that? Daniel had been praying and fasting for 21 days, and an angel shows up and says, “Daniel, your prayer was heard on DAY ONE. But I’ve been fighting a spiritual battle for three weeks to get this answer to you.” This wasn’t a delay because God wasn’t listening. This was a delay because there was warfare in the heavenly realm! The angel tells Daniel that a demonic prince—the prince of Persia—was blocking the answer. It took the archangel Michael joining the fight to break through the opposition. This passage pulls back the curtain on the invisible world and shows us that when we pray, we’re not just talking to the ceiling. We’re engaging in spiritual warfare that has real consequences in both the heavenly and earthly realms.

Your Prayers Trigger Spiritual Battles

Here’s the first truth I want you to grab hold of: your prayers trigger spiritual battles. The moment Daniel set his heart to seek God and humble himself through fasting, heaven responded. God heard him immediately. But the enemy also responded. The demonic prince of Persia mobilized to stop the answer from reaching Daniel. Why? Because the devil knows that answered prayer leads to breakthrough, and breakthrough leads to God’s kingdom advancing. The enemy doesn’t want you to experience breakthrough in your marriage, your finances, your ministry, or your personal walk with God. So when you start praying with purpose, when you start seeking God with your whole heart, you better believe there’s going to be resistance. Too many believers give up when they don’t see immediate results. They pray for a week, maybe two, and when nothing changes, they assume God isn’t listening or doesn’t care. But Daniel’s story teaches us that delayed answers don’t mean denied answers. Your prayer might have been heard on day one, but there’s a battle raging in the heavenly realm that you can’t see with your natural eyes. This is why we need spiritual discernment. This is why we can’t judge God’s response by our circumstances alone. Just because you don’t see the breakthrough yet doesn’t mean it’s not coming. It might mean that Michael and the angels are fighting on your behalf right now, pushing back the forces of darkness that are trying to keep your blessing from reaching you!

Persistence Breaks Through Resistance

The second truth is this: persistence breaks through resistance. Daniel didn’t quit on day seven. He didn’t give up on day fourteen. He kept praying, kept fasting, kept seeking God for 21 full days. And on that 21st day, the breakthrough came. Let me ask you something: when your motorcycle won’t start after sitting all winter, do you try once and then give up? No! You check the battery, you prime the fuel system, you keep working on it until that engine roars to life. You persist because you know the bike has the potential to run—it just needs the right conditions and the right effort. The same is true in prayer. Your breakthrough has potential. God has already released the answer. But you’ve got to persist through the resistance. You’ve got to keep praying when it feels like nothing’s happening. You’ve got to keep believing when your circumstances look the same. You’ve got to keep standing on God’s Word when the enemy whispers that it’s not working. Daniel could have quit on day 20. He could have said, “I’ve been fasting and praying for almost three weeks, and nothing’s changed. God must not want to answer this prayer.” But he didn’t. He persisted one more day, and that’s when the angel broke through with the answer. How many of us have quit one day before our breakthrough? How many times have we stopped praying just before the answer was about to manifest? The enemy knows that if he can get you to quit, he wins. But if you persist, if you keep pressing in prayer, you will break through the resistance!

Preparation Positions You for Victory

The third truth is that preparation positions you for victory. Notice that Daniel wasn’t just casually praying. Verse 2 tells us he was mourning for three full weeks. Verse 3 says he ate no pleasant bread, no meat, no wine. He was fasting. He was humbling himself. He was preparing himself spiritually for what God wanted to reveal. You see, spiritual warfare requires intentional preparation. You can’t fight spiritual battles with a casual prayer life. You can’t expect breakthrough when you’re spiritually unprepared. Just like you wouldn’t take a bike on a long ride without checking the oil and tires, you can’t enter a season of breakthrough without preparing your heart through prayer, fasting, and seeking God’s face. Daniel set his heart to understand. He wasn’t just asking God for stuff—he was seeking understanding, wisdom, revelation. He was positioning himself to receive what God wanted to give him. And that required sacrifice. It required discipline. It required saying no to comfort and yes to consecration. As we prepare for this riding season, let’s also prepare spiritually. Let’s check our prayer life—is it strong and consistent, or weak and sporadic? Let’s inspect our faith—is it battle-ready, or has it been sitting idle? Let’s charge our spiritual batteries through worship, through the Word, through fellowship with other believers. Because when you’re prepared, when you’re positioned, when you’re ready—that’s when God can release the breakthrough you’ve been praying for!

Attack Your Season

Now here’s the application: it’s time to attack your season! I’m not talking about passively waiting for something to happen. I’m talking about taking a warrior mentality into this new season. Daniel didn’t have a victim mentality—he had a warrior mentality. He set his heart, he humbled himself, he persisted in prayer, and he broke through. What breakthrough do you need? Maybe it’s a breakthrough in your marriage—you’ve been praying for restoration, for healing, for your spouse to come back to God. Maybe it’s a financial breakthrough—you’ve been believing God to open doors, to provide, to break the cycle of lack. Maybe it’s a ministry breakthrough—you’ve been asking God to use you, to expand your influence, to bring revival to your community. Whatever it is, I want you to shift from a victim mentality to a warrior mentality. Stop saying, “Why is this happening to me?” and start declaring, “I’m going to break through this!” Stop complaining about the delay and start persisting in prayer. Stop being passive and start being aggressive in your faith. When you get on your motorcycle and hit the open road, you don’t ride timidly. You attack the road with confidence. You lean into the curves. You accelerate when you need to. You ride with purpose and intention. That’s the same energy we need to bring to this season spiritually. Attack it! Go after your breakthrough with the same passion you bring to the ride!

21-Day Prayer Challenge

So, here’s what I’m challenging you to do: join me in a 21-day prayer challenge, starting today. For the next 21 days, I want you to commit to focused, intentional prayer for your breakthrough. Here’s how it works: First, identify your breakthrough. Write it down. Be specific. What are you believing God for? What answer are you seeking? Second, commit to daily prayer. Set aside time every single day—even if it’s just 15 minutes—to pray specifically for that breakthrough. Don’t just throw up a quick prayer. Get serious. Get focused. Get persistent. Third, consider fasting. You don’t have to do a full fast like Daniel, but maybe give up something—social media, television, desserts—and use that time to seek God instead. Fourth, journal your journey. Write down what God is speaking to you. Record any scriptures He highlights. Document the small victories along the way. And fifth, don’t quit before day 21. Even if nothing seems to be happening, even if you don’t feel anything, even if your circumstances look the same—persist! Remember, Daniel’s breakthrough came on day 21, not day 7. I believe that as we commit to this together, we’re going to see breakthrough like never before. We’re going to see marriages restored, finances released, ministries expanded, and lives transformed. But it’s going to require us to gear up spiritually and attack this season with warrior faith!

Closing Prayer and Blessing

Let’s pray together: Father God, we thank You that You hear our prayers from day one. We thank You that even when we can’t see what’s happening in the spiritual realm, You are fighting for us. Lord, we ask for spiritual discernment to understand that delayed answers are not denied answers. Give us the persistence of Daniel to keep praying, keep believing, keep standing on Your Word for 21 days and beyond. We declare that we are not victims—we are warriors. We are not passive—we are aggressive in our faith. We are attacking this season with expectation and confidence, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think. As we prepare our motorcycles for the riding season, we also prepare our hearts for breakthrough. Strengthen us for the battle. Position us for victory. And when the breakthrough comes—and it will come—we will give You all the glory. In Jesus’ mighty name, amen. Now go forth and ride into your breakthrough! Attack this season with faith, persistence, and warrior mentality. Your 21 days start today!

As we welcome warmer weather and longer days and shake off the stiffness and blow out the cobwebs of a long off season, we must recognize many motorist are not looking for us on the roadways. Ultimate it is up to us to make we Ride S.M.A.R.T. so here are some reminders.

Stay Alert

• Momentary inattention is a major cause of motorcycle incidents, keep your head up and eyes scanning everything in front of you.
• Watch for road hazards (e.g., tar snakes, loose gravel, grooved roads, potholes, grass clippings, railroad tracks, painted direcglass, shoulder debris, and uneven pavement.)
• Do not wear earbuds (in both ears) and stay off your phone while riding.
• Stop frequently for comfort breaks to stretch and hydrate as this will lessen bouts of dangerous fatigue, muscle cramps, and arm pump.

Maintain Space

• Maintain a two second gap between you and other vehicles on highways and freeways.
• Ride in the left-track or right-track of the lane to avoid oil, debris, and to be seen in motorists mirrors.
• Move as far off to the shoulder as possible when stopping on the roadside or freeway.
• Leave enough room in front of you to avoid debris, vehicles, and hazards.
• Merge by using on ramps to match traffic speed (or a bit faster) before merging, and avoid riding the far-right lane near busy exits to avoid oncoming and merging traffic.

Act Safely and Predictably

• Wear a properly fitted helmet and note that eye protection is required in many jurisdictions.
• Don’t override your skill level. Understand your sense of speed and comfort zone.
• Use proper hand signals and turn indicators.
• Be visible but ride like you are invisible. Make eye contact with motorist especially those making left hand turns. Remember if you can see someone in their mirrors, they cannot see you.
• Be courteous and a good witness as an ASR ambassador.

Respect the Rules of the Road

• Be aware and obey local traffic laws. However, while riding on freeways riding in the number one lane at the top allowable speed by local highway patrol is recommended.
• Motorcyclists are entitled to the full use of a lane, but some motorist may encroach so be aware and ride with your head on a swivel.
• California and Minnesota are the only U.S. states where full lane splitting (riding between lanes of moving traffic) is explicitly legal. However, several states have legalized “lane filtering” (passing stopped or slow traffic at low speeds or filtering to the front of the line at signal lights or stop signs.) At the time of this article these states are Arizona, Colorado, Montana, and Utah.
• Most organized rides insist that riders use a staggered formation. However, most states it is legal for motorcycles to ride side-by-side (parade formation) in a single lane, but they cannot share a lane with a car.
• Always yield to pedestrians, they have the right of way.

Think Ahead and Talk

• Keep your head up scanning the road ahead anticipating what others will do.
• Signal to fellow riders road hazards with right foot or left hand.
• Approach uneven pavement at an angle whenever possible.
• Utilize trail breaking for improved stability, this will keep your suspension loaded for better traction, and allows faster tighter cornering.

Enjoy the freedom of the road as we take the Gospel to our communities and beyond.

Let’s Go!

During the 1990’s, the slogan WWJD became extremely popular among Christian believers. Everywhere you looked, there would be bracelets, stickers, bumper stickers, and apparel emblazoned with those 4 letters.

In an article written by Heather Adams, she says that the slogan, “What Would Jesus Do grew out of the Biblical concept of the “Imitatio Christi,” or the “Imitation of Christ,” one of the teachings stressed in The Roman Catholic Church. Thomas a Kempis wrote a book with the title Imitation of Christ in the 1400s. John Wesley later built on the foundation of this theme, adding a social welfare component.

Inspired by Kempis’ book, the preacher Charles Spurgeon peppered one of his sermons with the phrase “What Would Jesus Do?” in 1881 in London. The Reverend A.B. Simpson composed a hymn that year using that phrase as the name. But Reverend Charles Sheldon was the one who introduced it to a wider audience.

 

We live in a society, where people say, Jesus would do this, and Jesus would do that. In their attempt to bring relevance and importance to their agenda, they often  misrepresent what Jesus would do in that situation.

I wonder how many times over the years has the simple phrase, WWJD, been corrupted by the hearts and minds of the individual saying it, because of a personal feeling or personal belief, that may have not even lined up with scripture?

I feel we are better served by not allowing the question, What Would Jesus Do determine our response to situations, but rather, looking to scripture to see what Jesus DID Do.

This thought came to my mind while I was attending our District Youth Convention in Charleston, WV.

Bro. Drew Galloway was ministering in the evening sessions, and he was speaking on John 4, where the Bible says that Jesus must needs go through Samaria. Many Jews would not go through Samaria, because there was a mutual dislike between Samaritans and Jews. But Jesus, in this moment, instead of choosing the route to avoid Samaria, said, I need to go through Samaria.

Jesus needed to go through Samaria, because there was woman there that needed an encounter with the Messiah. His journey didn’t make sense to many, his route wasn’t the recommended route, but He knew there was going to be an intersection at Jacob’s well, where a woman’s life would forever be changed.

It was in this scripture, a distinct and purposeful answer is made to the question, What DID Jesus Do?

He chose the route that most would never choose.
He chose the route that many would bypass.
He chose to have an encounter with a soul that needed Jesus in their life.

As motorcycle ministers, this resonates deeply with me.

We have been called to take the road most would never step foot on.
We have been assigned a calling, that may take us into territory that most don’t want to venture into.
The highways and hedges are not for faint of heart.

Those places beyond the normal scope and reach of the church, is where Jesus often found Himself, and it’s where I believe ASR should find itself.

Where is the Samaria of Azusa Street Riders? It’s right in the middle of a subculture that most Christians would avoid at all costs.

But as for me, I must needs go through Samaria.

Because, I know if I do……if you do……, Jesus will go with us, and lives will be forever changed because of it.

5AM We started our journey to  Nakar from Lower Bicutan.
We rest at Tanay Rizal while having our breakfast in our favorite fast food .. Mcdo!
After 30mins we proceed to our journey.. until we reached the famous MARILAQUE highway, a long and winding road, but ASR Riders are prepared to deal with the dangerous road, we ride in a very organized manner and enjoy nature. While on a high mountain and dangerous road, the temperature drops , the wind was too cold .. but that was every riders is waiting for , the freezing wind on the mountain.. we take our stop over on the 1st bridge of the MARILAQUE Highway for a body stretch then continue until we reached the land mark of Infanta – Real pole.

We arrived in UPC Nakar at approximately 10am , pastor Josefino Catalan (UPC Nakar assigned Pastor) met us and greeted us in the name of Jesus Christ. We are so happy to see the Brethren of UPC Nakar (the church started by ASR Riders way back in 2020, pandemic time).

We take our lunch together with pastor josefino Catalan and ASR pastor .. we are blessed with his  testimony and experience.

3pm when we decide to go to Dinahican fish port and beach to visit 1 brethren who owns a beach front. We pray for him also before we depart back to Manila.

5pm we travel back to Manila thru MARILAQUE highway.. this time our driving skills are being challenged because we are now riding in a dark and  dangerous road, we reached Manila at a different time .. but we are all home safely by the protection of our Great God Jesus Christ.
